Value disclaimer
Where our numbers come from
ripz.one reads data directly from the Panini blockchain, the public ledger that records how these cards change hands. When we show what a card is worth, what your collection is worth, or your profit, those figures are estimates based on real, completed sales recorded on that ledger, and on corrections suggested by collectors that we have reviewed. We don't pull prices from a private opinion of what a card "should" cost.
You choose the basis for most values yourself, for example the last sale, a 90-day average, or a 1-year average. Different bases tell different stories, and none of them is "the" price. They're lenses, not verdicts.
Suggested corrections
Collectors can suggest a different value for a card. We review every suggestion, and an accepted correction may update the ripz.one value shown for that card. Accepted corrections are still estimates based on collector input we've reviewed and completed sales. They are not a price anyone has agreed to pay.
How much to trust a number
Where we've earned it, a value carries a confidence letter from A to D. It isn't our opinion of the card — it's our own track record: how often our value for cards like this one has landed close to what they actually sold for next, measured only on sales the estimate never saw. A hit means our value landed within 25% of what cards like it sold for next — or within $1, because Panini prices move in whole dollars.
- A — at least 4 times in 5
- B — at least 2 in 3
- C — at least half
- D — less than half
More than 9 in 10 cards collectors hold carry a confidence letter.
A letter is a track record on cards like yours, not a promise about yours. Where there isn't enough evidence — or there aren't enough sales yet to measure how reliable its value is — there is no letter, and we would rather say so than print one we can't support.
Why they're estimates, not appraisals
A recorded sale is a fact. What that sale implies about your card, right now, is an estimate — and here's why:
- Thin or missing sales history. Some cards trade rarely, or have never sold at all. With little or no data, any value is a rough guess, and for cards with no sales we may show a clearly labelled estimate, with no confidence letter, or nothing at all.
- Every card is a little different. Serial number, condition, and the exact moment of sale all move price. Two cards from the same set can be worth very different amounts.
- Markets move fast. A value that was right an hour ago can be wrong now. Hype, a big pull, a single whale, or a quiet week can all swing prices sharply.
- Data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. We read a live, complex ledger. Sometimes it lags, sometimes a record is unusual, and sometimes we get something wrong. Expect the occasional rough edge.
- On-chain price isn't the whole world. Sales that happen off the ledger, private deals, and fees aren't captured here.
What this means for you
Treat ripz.one values as a well-informed starting point, not a settled price. They're useful for spotting trends, sizing up your collection, and deciding what to look at more closely. They are not a promise of what you could buy or sell for, and they are not advice about what you should do.
You are responsible for your own decisions. Buying, selling, holding and trading cards carries real risk, including the risk of losing money. If you need advice, talk to a qualified professional who can look at your situation.
